Wacom and Graphic Design

The graphic design world before Wacom's pen tablets came allong depended upon markers, pens, pencils and endless amounts of paper to create designs. Today, the Intuos3 replicates all these tools and more allowing graphic designers to enjoy the speed, convenience and efficiency of digital workflow. Using Wacom pen tablets to digitize the creation process has saved designers the world over money and time by eliminating the need for paper, scanning, and sending samples by post.

As the world's most advanced tablet, the Intuos3 offers both pressure and tilt sensitivity among its many features replicating the feel of classic marker drawings on paper. With the Intuos3, designers can combine the efficiency of drawing by hand with the smooth curves of vector-based drawing to create stylish illustrations quicker. Graphic designers creating photo composites will love the speed and convenience of the Intuos3 when creating masks and cut outs. Wacom pen tablets will release the full potential of applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Painter, and much more.

A few software highlights:
· Adobe Photoshop supports the pressure and tilt sensitivity of the Intuos3 pens and the finger wheel of the Intuos3 airbrush. This can be assigned to opacity, brush size, scatter and many other options. Create perfectly feathered masks or realistic brush strokes controlled by the pen only.

· Create natural brush strokes that vary in width in Macromedia Freehand™: The strokes are converted into vector paths on-the-fly. Or use the pressure-sensitive freeform tool to turn mathematically exact shapes into organic looking objects.

· Adobe Illustrator™ records the pen's pressure along the path - with a simple click you can change the path from a classic stroke into a pattern that changes size, orientation or scatter based on the pressure curve.

· Corel Painter™ has various natural looking tools that use the pen's pressure and tilt - even the finger wheel of the Intuos3 airbrush. Use the digital airbrush for realistic sprays or the felt pen for true marker renditions.
