(11 Dec, 2008 ? Jakarta) Wacom and SoftPro, a Wacom Partner and the world's leading vendor of biometric and static signature verification solutions, were invited to a seminar organized by Perbanas (Indonesian Banks Association) which attracted more than 60 banks in Indonesia and major local media. This included representative of banks in outlying provinces who flew into Jakarta especially for this half day seminar.

As the Indonesia banking industry is evolves and embraces new technologies, electronic transactions are expected to influence operations in near future. The introduction of electronic transaction would simultaneously bring new opportunities and challenges, and Perbanas hopes to raise awareness and preparedness among member banks.
The seminar theme was "The Future of Electronic Transaction in Indonesia?-- Opportunities and Challenges" and three experts were invited to give their opinions and insights: Mr. Aribowo, Bureau Chief, National Payment System Development, Bank of Indonesia, Mr. Arief Muliawan, Division Head of Program, Reporting, Monitoring and Evaluation of Deputy Attorney General for General Crime, Attorney General of Republic of Indonesia, and Mr. Alain Sarraf, Chief Technical Officer for SoftPro Group (Germany).

The seminar was officially opened by Mr. Sigit Pramono, Chairman of Perbanas, to a full house at the Grand Hyatt. During the 3-hour seminar, bankers and media received information pertaining to trends, legal compliance and technology that would help shape electronic transaction in the country.
Mr. Alain Sarraf shared his experience and expertise on electronic signature technology in Europe especially the banking industry and how banks were benefiting by using a secure electronic solution together with Wacom’s sophisticated STU-500 SignPad signature tablet.
Audiences jumped on the opportunity to clarify their questions with all speakers during the 20-minute Q&A session. Separate one-on-one media interviews with all speakers took place after the Q&A session.

Bankers and officials were treated to a demo at the Wacom booth where they saw the sophisticated STU-500 SignPad in action with SoftPro’s unique e-signature solution. Many were impressed with the high performance and security features of the solution where they could easily achieve productivity, high ROI and improve customer service. As the queues built up at the booths, bankers who required more time to view the solution requested separate appointments with Datascrip, Wacom and SoftPro’s distributor in Indonesia.
